St. Michael’s Parish House – Bristol, RI
St. Michael’s Parish House is a cherished part of Bristol’s historic fabric, serving as a welcoming space for community gatherings and spiritual life. Our team was honored to work on the preservation and enhancement of this important structure, ensuring its architectural integrity and functionality endure for generations.
The project focused on restoring key exterior elements, including slate roofing and copper details, while maintaining harmony with the building’s original design. Every aspect of the work was guided by a commitment to authenticity, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern protective measures to safeguard against the coastal environment.
Unique Challenges & Solutions
Preserving St. Michael’s Parish House required addressing several challenges. The building’s age and exposure to salt air had caused significant wear on roofing and metalwork. To ensure longevity, we sourced premium slate and corrosion-resistant copper to replicate the original aesthetic while enhancing durability. The steep rooflines and intricate detailing demanded precision installation and careful coordination among trades. Additionally, the project was completed while maintaining access for parish activities, requiring phased scheduling and strict safety protocols to minimize disruption.
